About me and my travels..

It’s time for the necessary evil.. The ‘about me’ page..

Well, I haven’t sold all my possessions and set of on a round the world adventure.. I’m working a regular, stress filled job, have been married for ten years, and have a son approaching his third birthday this summer. So, I’m just your average everyday family man that loves travel and experiencing other cultures and ways of life.

In the past, very distant past, I was a solo traveller and explored most of Europe myself, including spending six months in beautiful Tuscany teaching English privately.

Then, when I met my wife, I was able to share my love of travel with her and venture to further destinations. A firm favourite being the Middle East countries.

Life moves on, and now Kai is changing the way we travel and have to think about our next holiday. I guess that’s where this blog picks up my life..I intend to backdate my travel stories, with views and opinions of places I’ve been throughout my life.. How’ve, moving forward the focus will be on travelling with a young child. I want to show that the world is still there for seeing, with maybe a little more comprising.

Malaga and beyond – One small step..

.. One giant leap!

4th March 2019 is the day I’ve been looking forward to, and also stressing about for some time! This is the first time I’m going to be travelling with just Kai, my 2 1/2 year old son. Of course we’ve been a few places during his life so far, but there’s always been the comfort of knowing my wife was there to.. He can be a headstrong boyo when he wants to be, and four hands are easier to look after him than two, especially as the two are also carrying our luggage, and him most of the time!

Now safely arrived, without any major drama, we made the short journey to Torremolinos from Malaga Airport using the very inexpensive commuter train.

We are basing ourselves in Torremolinos, as it’s somewhere I know well, and is conveniently located between Malaga to the East, and Benalmadina and Fuengirola to the West. The plan being that we will visit each of those places over the next three days.

The first venture for us on the 5th is Fuengirola, and I guess I’ll update when Kai is sleeping or distracted by his tab!

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me, or at least taking the time to have a look at my blog, however fleeting your visit may be!

I am currently in the process of creating the final version and layout, but in the interim will be posting a couple of bits and pieces here.

If all goes to plan, the final site will be ready around the end of March.. But hopefully much earlier!

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
